Tips On Hair Waxing

Hair Waxing
Hair waxing is one of the most easiest and convenient ways of removing hair from large areas. It is better using waxing to remove hair as it leaves your skin smoother than shaving by removing stubble in the waxing process. Moreover, waxing makes the new hair grow lighter and thinner than before. You need not go to a beauty parlor or spa for waxing, as it can be easily done at home.

Waxing can be done hot or cold. In hot waxing, heated wax is applied to the skin in a thin layer in the direction of the hair growth. As the wax cools, hair gets embedded in it. So when the wax is pulled off in the opposite direction of the hair growth, hair goes with it.

There may be some stinging with this, but not too much. In cold waxing, the same procedure is adopted but with cold wax. However, there may be some stinging here.

It is always better to avoid exposing the waxed area to the sun for about forty-eight hours after treatment as this makes the skin appear darker. The best thing to do to avoid this is to use a good sun blocker. When waxing, the hair has to be at least 1/8inch long to be more effective. Make it a point to wash the skin to be waxed and then to dry it well to remove any lotions or oils that may be present on the skin. This is because these lotions or oils may prevent the wax from adhering closely to the skin.

In hot waxing, the wax has to be heated carefully so that it doesn't overheat and burn the skin when applying. To be safer, test on a small area first. When heating wax, heat it till it gets soft than runny. If you tend to feel lots of pain while waxing, use one of the pain reducing creams available in the market. This cream has to be used at least thirty to sixty minutes before waxing so that the skin gets numbed.

On applying the wax, you have to apply the cotton strip over it. Rub this cotton strip in the same direction as the growth of the hair while leaving at least 1/3 of the strip free to cater for a firm grip for a fast back pulling action. Pulling the skin taut before pulling the cotton strip away reduces the pain of the waxing process.

Pulling has to be a rapid movement that is close to the skin, and pulled backwards, not pulled up or out. In fact, a fast, smooth pull back is better than few light pulls as this may only increase the pain to leave patchy areas.
